The suspect is described as a local male in his late 30’s with short hair, wearing flower-type shorts, a dark blue shirt with a white triangle-type emblem in the front.
Big Island police were searching for a barefoot man who robbed an American Savings Bank in Kealakekua at about 3 p.m. today.
The suspect was described as a local male in his late 30s with short hair, wearing flower-type shorts, a dark blue shirt with a white triangle-type emblem in the front. He was barefoot and left on foot, police said.
Anyone with information was urged to call the Hawaii Police Department at 935-3311.

Since his face is already hit the news less than 3 hours later, unless he flew in from off island and then after the robbery he went straight to the airport and hopped on a plane (meaning he’s not from the B.I.), I’m betting he’ll be identified by tonight. While Hawaii Island is “big” in size, it is small in that folks know their own neighborhood and community members.
I hope they catch him ASAP, before he does some other crime that endangers people.

The term local once applied to a native born citizen as was buddah head applied to a Japanese/American, or others that connote racial slurs without distaste??????
