McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin), left, and Danny (Scott Caan) recruit Tani Rey (Meaghan Rath) to join the task force when diabolical hacker Aaron Wright (Joey Lawrence) releases a dangerous arsonist from prison during the Season 8 premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” on Sept. 29.

“Hawaii Five-0” fans from around the world continue to wait for word from CBS on whether the show will host a Sunset on the Beach screening in Waikiki this year.

Each year since the series debuted in 2010, cast and crew have walked the red carpet at Queen’s Surf Beach before a screening of the season premiere episode under the stars. That won’t happen in 2017.

“Still trying to lock down a date,” tweeted executive producer Peter Lenkov on Aug. 3. “Won’t be premiere this (year). Most likely later in the season.”

The City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation confirmed today that no permits have been issused this year in conjunction with a SOTB event.

CBS declined additional comment and referred to Lenkov’s Twitter post.

After seven seasons on the show, series stars Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park announced their departures earlier this summer. The network replaced them with Meaghan Rath and Beulah Koale while also promoting Ian Anthony Dale and Kimee Balmilero from recurring roles to series regulars.

The Season 8 premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” airs at 8 p.m. Sept. 29 on CBS.
