Work furlough inmate faces escape charge
A 28-year-old work furlough inmate failed to return tonight after work, the Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
Wilsand Sardinha was supposed to return at 7:30 p.m. to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center. Sheriffs and police were notified.
Sardinha is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 240 pounds, has a shaved head and brown eyes.
He is serving tie for felony abuse of a household member, second-degree robbery, second-degree theft, credit card theft and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
He was scheduled for a parole hearing in May. He now faces an escape charge.
Sardinha is classified as a community custody inmate in the work furlough program, with pass privileges. This is the lowest classification status.
Anyone spotting Sardinha is asked to call 911 or Sheriffs at 586-1352.
