Rainbow Wahine fall in 4 at Cal Poly

No. 13 Cal Poly took over sole possession of the top of the Big West volleyball standings tonight, turning back Hawaii 25-19, 25-18, 21-25, 27-25 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

A sold-out crowd of 3,032 at Mott Gym saw the Mustangs (16-1, 6-0) extend their win streaks to 23 in conference play, 17 at home and 15 this season.

Statistics were unavailable due to a computer malfunction at Cal Poly.

The loss ended the Rainbow Wahine’s five-match winning streak. Hawaii (9-6, 5-1) returns home to host Long Beach State on Friday and Cal State Northridge on Saturday.

It was the 13th straight loss to a Top 25 team for the Wahine. Hawaii has also lost three in a row to Cal Poly. The Wahine lead the series 39-7.
