Man arrested for allegedly hitting a victim with a beer bottle during a robbery

A 47-year-old Waianae man who allegedly hit an older man with a beer bottle while an accomplice stole the victim’s car was arrested at his home yesterday.

Police said the suspect hit the 54-year-old man in the head with the bottle and punched and kicked him in Wahiawa about 2:05 a.m.

When the victim got up, he noticed his vehicle and keys missing. Officers spotted a second suspect driving the vehicle later that day and arrested him.

The man who alleged beat the victim was arrested by Waianae Crime Reduction Unit officers on Farrington Highway at 10:45 a.m. He was booked on suspicion of first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.
