Kaneohe-bound lanes of Likelike reopened

The Kaneohe-bound lanes of the Likelike Highway were reopened before 6 p.m. today, after being shut for about an hour because of an accident, police said.

Honolulu police say the lanes after the tunnel had been shut down. They had advised Windward-bound motorists to use the Pali Highway or H-3 freeway.

This morning, H3 had 11 vehicles involved in crashes before and inside the tunnel Kaneohe bound. Afternoon, Likelike around 4 cars involved in crashes. Slow down people. Roads are wet. Quit tailgating.

Good for the idiot drivers who caused the accident. Wasted hours waiting for the cops and clear the accident, repairing their vehicle, finding another vehicle to use while their vehicle is repaired, etc just to save a couple minutes.

  2. DeltaDag says:

It’s not so much speed, especially since H-3 was designed as a high-speed military highway. It’s more inattention and poor lane-changing skills. Changing lanes is probably the most dangerous thing most ordinary people face on a day-to-day basis.
