FACE ESTHETICIAN OPENS WAIKIKI SPA

Skin specialist Izumi Nagahama, a nurse-turned-esthetician known for her Izumi Method Therapy face massage, has opened Mauloa Spa in the Aqua Aloha Surf hotel in Waikiki.

The intimate 500-square-foot spa offers facials, body treatments, hand and foot care, eyelash extensions and unique therapies from Asia.

Services include three rejuvenating facials, ranging in price from $128 to $220 for 50 to 60 minutes. These include the Izumi Method Therapy, which is said to enhance the skin’s appearance by increasing circulation and boosting lymphatic flow to eliminate toxins.

Those seeking massages have the opportunity to blend their own oils with organic rose hips, rose petals, hibiscus flower petals and chamomile.

Two treatment rooms can be expanded into a couples’ treatment suite for Valentine’s Day and beyond.

The spa is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at 444 Kanekapolei St. Call 923-8881.
