Shark warning signs posted at Waimea
The city posted shark warning signs at Waimea Bay on Oahu’s North Shore shortly before noon Thursday due to the sighting of an aggressive 6- to 8-foot shark feeding on fish about 30 yards from shore.
The city’s Ocean and Lifeguard Services Division asked the public to stay out of the water Friday and until the warning signs come down.
The species of shark was not identified.
