Hawaii entertainer Henry Kapono and the recording artists from the recently released "The Songs of C&K" album gathered in front of First Hawaiian Bank at South King and Bishop streets Tuesday to promote the release, which was produced in partnership with First Hawaiian. The album is available with digital download for $20, exclusively at all First Hawaiian branches through Sept. 25. A limited edition vinyl will be available for $25 at select branches. Net proceeds will benefit the Henry Kapono Foundation, whose mission is to support the community at large with a focus on Hawaii's music industry and artists.

The 29th Hiroshima Commemoration and Peace Service at the Izumo Taishakyo Mission of Hawaii on Monday marked the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, on Aug. 6, 1945, during WWII by the U.S. Wayne Miyao, chairman of the Hiroshima- Hawaii Sister State Committee, rang the bell.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser presented the Arthritis Foundation of Hawaii a check for $105,000, which represents donations from readers of the newspaper through its subscriber donation program.
