Man charged for breaking into Waikiki home
Prosecutors charged a 32-year-old man Tuesday with first-degree burglary for breaking into a 42-year-old man’s Waikiki home.
Police arrested Patrick Austin at 5:56 a.m. Monday with burglary and resisting arrest.
Police said he was allegedly taking items from the victim’s home while the victim slept. When he awoke, he chased Austin out of the house. While out chasing him, he flagged down an officer.
Police said he allegedly resisted arrest briefly and was then arrested.
Bail for Austin was set at $30,000.
