Hawaii island police are asking for the public’s help in four thefts of dried, unhulled coffee beans — with a total value of $21,700 — from two companies in Kau.
The first three thefts were from a property on Wood Valley Road. In those incidents, persons removed 1,300 pounds of the beans over the past two weeks.
The most recent theft was on Saturdayfrom a property on Kaalaiki Cane Haul Road. In that theft, about 1,000 pounds of beans were taken.
Police remind the public that it is illegal to be in possession of stolen property. They ask that anyone with information on these thefts call officer Dane Shibuya at 939-2520.
