Police hold alleged would-be shoplifter at Ala Moana
A Hilo woman is behind bars after allegedly attempting to shoplift at an Ala Moana area store and then assaulting two security guards while trying to escape Wednesday morning.
Police said two loss prevention officers witnessed the theft at about 11:30 a.m.
When they tried to detain the suspect, 33, she used physical force trying to flee, said police.
She was detained and is being held on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
