Three lost hikers rescued from ridge above Kaaawa
Three male hikers who got lost atop a ridge line above Kaaawa were rescued by the Honolulu Fire Department helicopter Tuesday afternoon.
No one was injured, but the men became lost while hiking along a precarious section of a trail along a ridge line at about 1:15 p.m, said Capt. Terry Seelig, HFD spokesman.
Firefighters were able to locate the hikers, and all three were brought one by one out of the area by the helicopter with the use of a canvas rescue sling, Seelig said.
