By Wayne Harada

POSTED:

Jim Nabors, the beloved "Gomer Pyle" TV star who's a Diamond Head resident, will make his umpteenth appearance at today's Indy 500 races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He'll perform the poignant "Back Home Again in Indiana" with the Purdue All-American Marching Band before the racers start their engines -- a ritual he's done for more than three decades.
