Waianae woman, 37, arrested for attempting to cash stolen check

A 37-year-old Waianae woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to cash a check belonging to an 85-year-old woman who had reported it stolen in a burglary recently.
The woman was arrested at the Maili Money Mart on Farrington Highway about 7 p.m. Wednesday. She is being held pending charges of second-degree forgery, second-degree attempted theft and unauthorized possession of the check.
