Oahu home sale prices lifted with volume spike in April

Median prices and sales volume for Oahu homes rose in April, according to a report released today by the Honolulu Board of Realtors.

The number of sales boomed by roughly 30 percent for previously owned single-family homes and condominiums, while median prices rose close to 5 percent.

There were 280 single-family home sales last month, up 29 percent from 217 sales in the same month last year. The median price was up 4.2 percent to $625,000 from $600,000.

Condo sales surged 33.2 percent to 457 in April from 343 a year earlier. The median price rose 5 percent to $335,000 from $319,000.
