HILO >> A 25-year-old Ocean View woman suspected of using a hatchet in a robbery attempt has pleaded not guilty to robbery and assault charges.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports Trinety Crapser entered the pleas Tuesday in Hilo and is being held on $72,000 bail.

Prosecutors say Crapser on Jan. 26 attempted to take a Corvette belonging to a woman who had stopped to place signs along South Point Road. The driver was able to gain control of the hatchet.

During the struggle, a man from Crapser's car took a bag from the Corvette that contained the owner's wallet and other items.

Crapser was arrested Jan. 27 and 23-year-old Kainoa Kahele-Bishop was arrested Jan. 30 in the incident. He is to be arraigned Feb. 19 on robbery and other charges.

What? You think they won't get marijuana because it is illegal but they will get ice which is also illegal?

Agree with Wao and Sailfish. As long as they were "going illegal," they could've chosen marijuana instead (for the most part, not addictive), but instead appear to have chosen meth, which is highly addictive and a really awful drug. Too bad. A big fat waste of the precious gift of human life & taxpayers' hard-earned money. Also, what about the life-long trauma the poor victim now endures from this attempted assault & theft?
