Man arrested for allegedly stealing estranged wife's purse

Police on Tuesday arrested a 31-year-old man with no local address who allegedly injured his 41-year-old estranged wife when he grabbed her purse Jan. 29 in Makiki.

Police said the woman hung onto the purse and fell to the ground during the struggle.

The man allegedly ripped the purse from her grip and fled.

The two are married but separated, police said.

A plainclothes officer arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
