Fire damages Job Corps building on Maui

Maui fire and police investigators are looking into what may have been an intentionally set fire that caused $300 worth of damage to the Hawaii Job Corps building in Makawao on Tuesday.

The fire started in the storage area of the building at 500 Ike Dr. when it was discovered just after 11 a.m. Job Corps staff extinguished the blaze before firefighters arrived. About 50 people had to be evacuated.

No injuries were reported.
