A 77-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a car crashed into her home while she was inside, according to police.

On Friday at 8:36 a.m., a 84-year-old man was entering the carport of his Lalamilo home in Moanalua when he accelerated and struck a wall that was attached to the laundry room.  The woman was inside of the laundry room when the crash occurred and she sustained head and internal injuries, police said.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
