Northwest swell continues to generate high surf

The north and west-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai are under a high surf warning due to a large northwest swell, the National Weather Service said.
The warning also covers the north shores of Maui and the west shores of the Big Island.
The warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
The swell is expected to generate surf from 20 to 30 feet along the north shores of Oahu, Molokai, Maui and Kauai and the west shores of Kauai and Niihau, according to the National Weather Service.
A high surf advisory is issued for the west facing shores of Maui, Lanai, and Kahoolawe and the south-facing shores of Oahu.
Waves along the west-facing shores of Oahu and Molokai are expected to be about 12 to 20 feet. The west shores of the Big Island can expect to see waves from about 10 to 15 feet, forecasters said.
