Two masked men assaulted a 64-year-old Puna resident in his home on Wednesday.

Hawaii island police said the incident occurred in Hawaiian Paradise Park, and was reported at 8:25 p.m. at a home on 23rd Avenue. The attackers fled in a white Nissan or Datsun pickup truck.

One suspect was described as about 5-foot-10, about 180 pounds; the other about 5-foot-6 and between 120 and 130 pounds. Both were described as being dressed in black with their faces obscured.

Police ask anyone with information about this case or the possible identity of the suspects to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
