Man, 34, charged with assaulting woman, 43, in McCully
A 34-year-old man was charged Friday with assaulting a 43-year-old woman in McCully, police said.
Jay-Christopher French, of Alewa Heights, was charged about 10:30 p.m. with kidnapping and repeat abuse of a family or household member. His bail was set at $50,000.
Police said French would not allow the woman to exit a vehicle while he was assaulting her about 4 p.m. Thursday.
He was arrested almost two hours later on Kalakaua Avenue.
