APEC security zone maps

Below are websites and links to maps with information on security zones and restrictions during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit meetings Nov. 8 through Nov. 13.

President Barack Obama is hosting the leaders of 20 other Asian-Pacific countries during the summit. More than 20,000 people, including cabinet ministers, business leaders, journalists and support staff, will be in Honolulu for the meetings.

Access to some of the busiest streets in the Ala Moana-Waikiki regions will be limited during the meetings at the Hawaii Convention Center, in Waikiki at the Hale Koa Hotel and at the Ko Olina resort.  Bus service will be affected and there are also water and air security zones.

Honolulu Mayor PeterCarlisle urged residents to plan ahead and try to avoid traveling into secure zones if they do not need to be there. "Be aware of what the situation is, and when it is appropriate it might be a very good idea not to be in the areas that are going to be affected," he said.

Below is information you may need to plan ahead for traveling in Waikiki, Ko Olina and the Ala Moana area APEC week.
