University of Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke to reporters at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., on Feb. 29. Last month, the NCAA’s Division I Board of Directors rescinded a ban on satellite camps.

The University of Hawaii and University of Michigan coaching staffs will be co-hosts of a June 26 football camp on the Saint Louis School campus.

Both coaching staffs will provide instruction to the high school-eligible players. The Saint Louis coaches also will be involved in the camp. The registration fee and itinerary will be announced later.

GPA Football — an organization directed by Rich Miano, a former UH player and coach, and Chad Ikei, who runs a strength-conditioning business — will handle registration and other administrative duties.

UH and Michigan agreed to serve as partners on this leg of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s revived so-called “Summer Swarm” of 30 satellite camps in 30 days.

Last month, the NCAA’s Division I Board of Directors rescinded a ban on satellite camps. The decision frees football coaches to work at camps across the country, as long as those camps are in compliance with NCAA rules.

The Warriors also plan to host their own football camps on their campus in June. Details of the UH camps are pending.

UH and Michigan will meet Sept. 3 in a football game in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michigan is partnering with Hawaii for a reason, guess why?
They want a pipeline to get St Louis and other high school athletes into their program.
If UH was smart, they should run their own ONLY

hey Rolo, if Jim Harbaugh slaps you on the back hard just take him out.

Maybe Michigan can help us pay for the rail. We should tax them for coming to hold camp here. Where is Caldwell when we need him.

  4. Richfromoc says:

Michigan and Hawaii should co-host a football camp in Ann Arbor too, otherwise, advantage Michigan on this one.

  5. PinkSushi says:

You can bet St Louis wanted to host this soooo badly. Anything to boost the profile of its win-at-all-costs football program.

UH atheletic director went to U of Michigan. Harbaugh will definitely pick off the top players from any state, any time. Down the road he “might” say something nice about UH to a recruit which will benefit UH.
