Hawaiian cancels this week’s Tahiti flight

Hawaiian Airlines says it has canceled its weekly roundtrip flight between Hawaii and Tahiti because firefiHawaiian cancels this week’s Tahiti flightghters are on strike at the Papeete Airport.

Hawaiian said yesterday the flight is scheduled to leave Honolulu for Papeete each Friday at 5:15 p.m.

The return flight is scheduled to depart Papeete for Honolulu every Saturday at 12:45 a.m.

Hawaiian says federal aviation regulations prohibit flying into airports that aren’t manned by firefighters.

Hawaiian says it expects to resume flying the route June 18, pending resolution of the strike.
