Police arrested a 45-year-old man who allegedly chased another man with a cane knife around Laulele Street in Waianae.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was able to run away and the suspect took out his frustration on the victim’s car, striking the front hood with the 12-inch knife yesterday afternoon, police said.

The incident began with a verbal argument between the two men at the suspect’s Laulele Street home, police said. The suspect allegedly went into his backyard, grabbed the knife and began chasing the victim on the street at about 2:10 p.m.

Police arrested the suspect near the intersection of Laulele and Waapui streets for terroristic threatening and criminal property damage.
