New exhibits tell story of Pearl Harbor’s historic attractions
Nine new wayside exhibits explaining the significance of the Navy’s historical attractions at Pearl Harbor were unveiled this morning at Hospital Point.
Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Commander Capt. Richard Kitchens dedicated the exhibits at the 9 a.m. ceremony. The exhibits were described as “captions on the landscape,” consisting of powerful visuals and concise text, a release said.
The ceremony at Hospital Point highlights the naval hospital, marked by one of the new exhibits, that once occupied the area. The unveiling coincides with the 112th anniversary of the date that President William McKinley authorized the establishment of the U.S. Navy Hospital Corp, the release said.
