Attempted murder suspect extradited from Guam

A man charged with attempted murder in an incident more than two years ago was extradited from Guam and arraigned in Circuit Court yesterday.

Willy Narruhn, 27, of no local address, is accused of stabbing a man multiple times at a Halawa bus stop on March 15, 2008.

Narruhn was being held on $500,000 bail.

A bench warrant for his arrest was issued in Honolulu in February.

Serengau Engichy, 24, sustained injuries to his chest, shoulder and calf as a result of the 2008 attack. Court records said Engichy was on the same bus as Narruhn, and that they were speaking amicably despite having been in a bar fight two years prior. The two got off the bus in Halawa where Engichy was trying to transfer onto a bus that would take him to Waipahu, court records said.

Court records also said Narruhn admitted to Engichy’s mother that he had stabbed her son, was drunk at the time, and that he was sorry.
