Hilo Airport getting 4 new jetways
HILO>> A federal grant worth more than $2.8 million will pay to replace jetways and make other improvements at Hilo International Airport.
U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono announced the Federal Aviation Administration grant award Tuesday.
It will pay for replacing the four jetways, also known as passenger loading bridges, that are 18 years old.
There are a total of seven jetways at the airport. The remaining three jetways were recently replaced.
