A single-engine plane with three people onboard made an emergency landing today at old Kona Airport, Big Island firefighters said.

The Cessna made the sudden landing about 3:15 p.m. with three people on board.

Firefighters said the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at the old runway after experiencing mechanical trouble.

A man and a woman also on board were not injured, and the plane was not damaged.
