A 19-year-old man was in critical condition at the Queen’s Medical Center after a collision involving two mopeds in Kaimuki Friday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Waialae Avenue and St. Louis Drive at 10:42 p.m. The other driver — a 24-year-old woman— was treated at the Queen’s Medical Center for minor injuries and released this morning.

According to police, the man was driving a stolen blue 2009 moped in the Koko Head direction on Waialae Avenue when he attempted to make a left turn on to St. Louis Drive and collided with a black moped.

Both drivers were not wearing helmets. Police are not yet sure whether speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
