A fire gutted a house on Ahe Place in Palolo Valley yesterday evening. No one was injured.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding an arsonist who set fire to a home in Palolo Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators determined an accelerant was used to start the fire at 2203 Ahe Place at about 5 p.m.

Anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the fire or who has information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on cellular phones.

A woman who lived at the home, located toward the end of the street near the stream, was not there when the fire broke out.

Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said damage to the home was estimated at $250,000. The cause has not been determined.
