Albert Agoot pleaded guilty yesterday in Circuit Court to six counts of first-degree sexual assault, four counts of third-degree sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery.

A 19-year-old Foster Village man pleaded guilty in a plea deal yesterday to kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl and will receive a 20-year prison term.

Albert Agoot could have faced a possible life sentence had he gone to trial and been found guilty.

The prosecutor said she agreed to the plea deal to spare the girl from having to testify.

"It keeps the victim from going any further in the criminal justice system," deputy prosecutor Thalia Murphy said.

Agoot pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree sexual assault, four counts of third-degree sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery.

A state judge will sentence him in October to the 20-year prison term.

Murphy said Agoot was obsessed with the girl, who is a friend of a family member. Murphy said he wrote the girl letters while pretending to be somebody else.

On April 8, Agoot took his obsession to another level.

Agoot called the girl on her cell phone and told her a boy, over whom the girl had a crush, was in the hospital dying of cancer. The story was false.

The girl agreed to let Agoot pick her up and take her to the hospital. After she got into Agoot’s pickup truck, he drove her down the street, choked her and threatened to kill her if she did not keep quiet. He also took her cell phone so she could not call for help.

Agoot taped the girl’s hands behind her back, put tape around her head and eyes and took her to Foster Village, where he raped her in the driveway of his parents’ home. The girl told police that while Agoot was raping her, he repeatedly hit her on the back of the head with an object, told her he had a gun and threatened to shoot and kill her.

The girl said Agoot then drove her to Pearl City before returning to Foster Village, where he resumed raping her. Her tears caused tape covering her eyes to slip away.

When Agoot went into his parents’ home to get a drink of water, the girl exited the truck and ran down the street to her parents’ house naked from the waist down and with her hands taped behind her back.

Agoot admitted what he did to police. When they asked him what, if anything, he would say to the girl, he said he would apologize to her and ask to remain in her life.
