Stadium face lift includes $2.5M for field surface
Aloha Stadium will be getting a new playing-field surface.
Money for the $2.5 million project is included in $17 million the state has released for ongoing renovation and repair work at the stadium.
Most of the money will be used for the incremental replacement of the stadium’s metal roof deck and replacement of lighting transformers.
State officials say the work is to be completed by next August, in time for the start of the 2011 University of Hawaii and high school football seasons.
