Urban Honolulu on screen

Filmmaker Robert Pennybacker premieres his short film "Honolulu/Urban Vol. 1" tomorrow at Coffee Talk in Kaimuki. Free continuous screenings will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the coffee shop, located at the corner of Waialae and 12th avenues. Pennybacker, who is also vice president of creative services at PBS Hawaii, describes the short as "a thought-provoking, poetic film set in urban Honolulu."

WHAT’S IN STORE

Boutique keeps it green in Kaimuki

Owners of the newly opened Drift boutique in Kaimuki are asking consumers to think green.

Laura Ivy and Ale Klein have dressed the store in fixtures that are 95 percent recycled in some way or another, including wood floors salvaged from three Oahu homes and a commercial-grade steamer found in a trash pile nearby.
