Foodland’s Give Aloha program has selected the Korean Cultural Center Fund as one of the nonprofit participants next month. If you have a Maika’i card, you can donate up to $249 at checkout and Give Aloha will match your donation. When you use your Maika’i card for purchases, tell the cashier "code 78576" to designate donations for the fund.

When built, the center will celebrate Koreans’ contributions to Hawaii and the nation. The first Korean immigrants to the United States arrived in Hawaii Jan. 13, 1903. The first president of the Republic of Korea, Syngman Rhee, resided in Hawaii and later spent his last years in the islands.
