Travel south on Washington state Route 109, pass Pacific Beach, turn mauka on Ocean Beach Road and drive 1.5 miles. There you'll find the town of Aloha and its most prominent building, Aloha Tavern. Unfortunately, it wasn't open when Melinda Wood of Manoa found herself there on June 30. The photo was snapped by her traveling companion Kirk Uechi of Pearl City.
