Fujimoto unspools toilet-paper cozies
Not much thought is given to toilet paper — unless you’re out of it. But Gary Fujimoto of P55dle has made it his muse, resulting in whimsical toilet paper cozies that deserve to be left in plain sight. At $10 each, they’re part of a collection that includes wine bags, totes, baby quilts and oven mitts. Design themes were inspired by classics such as "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wizard of Oz." The "Home Sweet Home Collection" uses illustrations showing how to click your heels together to find your way home. Fujimoto designs and silk-screens the fabric and hand sews each piece. P55dle is based at fishcake, a furnishings and accessories boutique at 307C Kamani St. Call 593-1231.
