A girl who appeared to be under 5 years old was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being pulled from waters off of Ala Moana Beach Park at 5:38 this afternoon.
Lifeguards performed CPR on the girl near Tower 1E, on the Magic Island side of the beach, said Bryan Cheplic, a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services. Paramedics then treated her and took her to a hospital, Cheplic said.
