Hawaii’s Kelly Hu has booked a part on the new “Hawaii Five-0” and will be arriving tomorrow to shoot an episode next week, the L.A.-based actress confirmed today.

Hu couldn’t say much about the part, except that she will be a staffer for the show’s fictional governor, who is played by Jean Smart. Hu’s character has been written into only one episode, but she hopes for a recurring part in “Five-0.”

She’s definitely a fan of the new “Five-0” and its new Steve McGarrett, played by Alex O’Loughlin.

“I was really impressed with Alex O’Loughlin,” Hu said. “He really pulls off the action hero part.”

She’s appeared in a variety of film and TV roles, including last year’s martial arts DVD “The Tournament” and this spring as Pearl in CW’s “Vampire Diaries.” Her film roles include a mutant villain in 2003’s “X-Men 2.”

Hu also has a recurring role as the voice of Stacy in the animated series “Phineas and Ferb.”
