Honolulu immigration office opens today

A new Honolulu field office of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is opening today.

The 30,000-square-foot office at Waterfront Plaza will provide more space for interview rooms, an application support center and naturalization ceremonies.

The office serves the entire state of Hawaii.

Tours of the facility are being held following the grand opening ceremony.

Since July, when the move to the new field office began, access to immigration services has been limited because fewer appointments with immigration officers were available.
