Police continued to search for a man in his 20s wanted for stabbing and critically injuring a 21-year-old Kalihi man early Monday morning at Kalihi Valley Homes.

Police have classified the case as attempted second-degree murder.

Police said the victim’s artery was severed and that he was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center in extremely critical condition. Police reported yesterday afternoon that the artery had been repaired.

Witnesses heard screams coming from a unit at Kalihi Valley Homes on Kalena Drive and called police at 2:01 a.m. yesterday.

Police and paramedics found the 21-year-old man with stab wounds. 

The assailant was seen leaving the area.
