Public again asked for tips in robbery
Big Island police are renewing a request for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a gas station robbery last month in Hilo.
The man, armed with a knife, entered the 76 gas station at Ainako Avenue and Kaumana Drive at about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 25, police said.
He demanded money, then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, possibly in a white pickup. The victim was not injured.
Police previously requested information about possible witnesses in a dark Scion with custom rims. The Scion has since been located, police said.
