Harvard expert to speak at autism workshop
Margaret L. Bauman, one of the world’s foremost physicians on the treatment of developmental disorders, will present “Autism Spectrum Disorders: Complex but Manageable,” from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 9 at the Capitol Auditorium.
Bauman, a Harvard professor, pediatric neurologist and research investigator, has spent the last 25 years involved in the study and treatment of autism.
She was invited to Hawaii to present the workshop by the Baby STEPS to Stronger Big Island Families Council, as well as the Hawaii County Mayor’s Committee on Early Childhood.
Cost of the workshop is $20 per person (which includes a continental breakfast). A limited number of scholarships are available to family members of people with autism. For more information, contact Angela Thomas at 887-1228 or athomas@fofhawaii.org.
