Man reported missing in Hawaii dies in Washington
Police have canceled the missing persons search for William Smith Jr. since his family yesterday was told that he died in Washington.
Smith, 50, was last seen in the Waikiki area on Oct. 1. His vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot of the Salt Lake Shopping Center several weeks later.
Honolulu Crime Stoppers described Smith as being “emotionally distraught” and in need of medication.
A missing persons bulletin for Smith was issued on Nov. 4.
