SOS CHECKS OUT "LV" 1. Society of Seven members Hoku Low, third from left, and Wayne Wakai, fifth from left, were in the house Tuesday when the Society of Seven-LV opened a new show at the Outrigger Waikiki. The "latest version" consists of a five-man SOS group that includes Mike De Guzman, left, Freddie von Paraz, Jan Luna and Jonathan Kaina, plus keyboardist Jeannette Travias and two guest entertainers.

"OCEANS" MAKES 2 2. Russell Tanouye, left, congratulated Oceans 808 general manager Mike Griffith at the club's second anniversary party Tuesday. Some said the club wouldn't last when it opened on the site of the original Ocean Club in 2008. Griffith and his partners proved them wrong.

HCCA HONORS LUM 3. Dr. Carl Lum, second from left, was the guest of honor at the Hawaii Chinese Civic Association Mandarin Ball on Nov. 6 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel. Lum received the 2010 HCCA Mandarin Award for his work with the Aloha Medical Mission in Hawaii, Asia and Africa.
