The elderly woman who died after she was hit by a car in a crosswalk in Nuuanu on Friday morning has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Fung Ha Chen, 82.

Police said a 50-year-old Kapolei woman was driving a Honda Accord mauka when it hit Chen on Nuuanu Avenue at Kauila Street at 5:49 a.m.

The pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time, police said.

Paramedics took Chen to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition, and she died at 11:52 a.m.
