Water main break affects traffic on Farrington Highway

Traffic is down to one lane in the Waianae-bound direction of Farrington Highway in Waipahu because of a water main break this morning.

The break happened near the intersection of Makamaka Place. Police say only the left lane is open between Waipahu Depot Road to Waikele Road as crews repair the main break.

Motorists can take an alternate route onto Waipahu Depot Road to Waipahu Street and then to Waikele Road back to Farrington Highway to get around the repair work.

The repairs are expected to last into the afternoon or early evening.
