Haley apologizes for not shaking hands with McDaniels
KANSAS CITY, Mo. » Kansas City coach Todd Haley apologized yesterday for refusing to shake hands with Denver coach Josh McDaniels after the Chiefs’ blowout loss the day before.
Haley made a single comment to McDaniels as the Denver coach held out his hand after the Broncos’ 49-29 victory in Denver. Haley pointed his finger at him, turned and stomped away.
In his opening remarks to reporters yesterday, Haley offered his apology before he was asked about the incident that instantly became a hot topic around the league.
Pennington out for season
Chad Pennington (shoulder) was placed on reserve-injured yesterday, part of the fallout from Miami’s quarterback calamity in Sunday’s win. Chad Henne was also hurt but might be available Thursday against Chicago, coach Tony Sparano said.
Tyler Thigpen is the most likely starter vs. the Bears.
